The past few months and OCs

I keep forgetting to update here!! In my last post I had just finished my portraits project, and now I've just finished my final project of the year, based around evidence.

"The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood were all made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are all made of star stuff." - Carl Sagan

From our vantage point on Earth we can see light from stars which are billions of light-years away. It is therefore reasonable to assume the majority of stars we can see in the night sky have already completed their lifespan and died. When we look at the farthest visible star, we are technically looking 4 billion years into the past. It is extremely likely life outside of  earth existed (and perhaps still exists) during such an unimaginable length of time.

While i'm very satisfied with my final images, they caused a large amount of stress for me considering it relied on clear skies and other external factors. I ended up taking the picture on the left just two days before it needed to be in, and I really pushed the deadline which I hate doing.

CLOUDS RUIN EVERYTHING. We went to this one spot in Derbyshire multiple times to get shots with no light pollution but it was cloudy many times. This made things extra stressful since mum had to drive me there at midnight on a work night, so I felt bad for her too,

Anyway now I'm free from college until September, I have a lot of time to work on OCs. For fate/reflection (a small Fate fan group where we make our own fan characters and rp) I wrote a short thing about my Casters old memories. So basically I wrote historical fanfiction, this is a high point in my life. I love Mary I so much, I spent two whole days just reading about her life.
Aside from that I've been working on my main rping character Ortiz and my space pirate lesbians, although so far its just brainstorming various ideas and I haven't really gotten anything written down yet.

I love this couple so much I'm going to work on them a lot over this holiday!!! Hell yeah!!!!!!

First proper post here ooooo

Time to start my blog I guess!

These past few weeks have been INTENSE. I have had about 3/4 projects which all need to be handed in by the end of march and for some reason I thought it was a good idea to start one of them only two weeks to the deadline when i've had eight weeks to do it. Smart move. Luckily I've started to get productive with both OC and photography work! Through i've had to put OCs aside for time being.

My main project for this term is portraits, and by the first of April I need to have five images ready: a high key and low key portrait, a self portrait, a still life based off a real person and another portrait of my own choice. Thankfully I already have most of them done!

This one is my low key image - its also my final piece for my second project where I had to take pictures of a classmate for a college exhibition (its going to be printing professionally and hung up in the hallway im very nervous.) By putting it in both projects I can kill two birds with one stone and save time 8)

This picture looks kind of different on every computer I look at it on. Its my Still Life entry, my tutors have to guess who its based off. I hope its obvious enough lol, I wish I could've gotten the skull prop one owned by one of the tutors but never mind.

This is for the portrait of my own choice and I LOVE IT. The effect was done all on the camera, the only editing I did was a slight colour touch up and saturations. Light painting is so fun and looks sososo cool, doing this revitalizes my love for photography.

This is my self portrait - I have mixed feelings about it. I managed to get the effect right and just how I wanted it, however the angle and lighting is unattractive. Though I suppose everybody has a double chin and I shouldn't be too self conscious about it.

Unfortunately I still haven't managed to get a high key portrait done - high key is natural, happy, standard lighting so I don't have any ideas for it. I could just take some standard portraits but I find that boring and I want to show off as many skills as possible. I was maybe thinking of using this one:

Since I think its pretty interesting, but for now I'll just have to see how much time i'll have on tuesday! I'm so glad these projects are nearly over omg I can't wait for april - I have almost all of that month off college so I can spend loads of time working on OC projects like Equilibrium and my space pirate lesbians. Why do I always get ideas for these things when I caN'T WORK ON THEM.
